Rava Sheera Recipe/Sooji apple Sheera Recipe
Rawa sheera is a very simple quick and easy recipe with a little twist, i.e. Apple. Sooji sheera is very common dessert prepared all over India. And generally it is served as prasad after every puja. For festivals and auspicious occasions this sweet is prepared with the combination of different flavors. Rava sheera is prepared with banana, apple, pineapple, and kesar/saffron. It is also known as Rawa Kesari in South India and Rava no sheero in Gujarat.
Sooji is such a versatile ingredient that it goes well with any thing. It always tastes awesome no matter how you prepare it. The only thing to be remembered while making this sheera is proportion of ghee, sooji and milk. Raisins really go well with this sheera but you can add any dry fruit of your choice.
Some times this sheera is prepared using only water. You can also use edible colour while preparing it. I prefer natural colour of saffron so I have not used any other colour.
Apple has its natural sweetness so be careful while adding sugar to it. Apples also give this sheera flavour of essence. Make sure you smash or grate apple nicely and let it cook properly. We need to cook it till apple completely blends with the sheera. Also remember to roast sooji well . Or else it will become sticky. If rawa is not roasted properly it gives raw smell and it will not get proper texture.
You can adjust sweetness of sugar as per your preference and taste. There are different types of rawa available in stores. Here I have used fine rawa and not the thick one. Once it is cooked it will be bigger in size.
